Yet none of my guesses felt entirely correct.
The tool’s shape suggested a practical function, but without context, its purpose remained difficult to identify. It was a reminder of how quickly everyday knowledge can fade as technology and working methods change.
Eventually, I decided to ask the person most likely to know the answer.

When I showed the object to my grandfather, he recognized it instantly.
His reaction made it clear that what seemed mysterious to me was completely ordinary to him. He smiled, examined the tool for a moment, and then explained its purpose.
The answer surprised me.
